Sailor Moon is a popular media franchise from Japan that was created by Naoko Takeuchi. The anime’s story revolves around a team of magical girls who are defenders brought back to life to protect a kingdom that once traversed all over the solar system. These magical girls who are sometimes called as Sailor Soldiers can transform into lovely heroines whose names are taken from the moon and planets. The “Sailor” term was taken from Japanese school girl’s uniform style which is like the suit of a sailor. The whole animated series display fantasy elements that are roughly symbolic and mythology-based.

The Sailor Team is composed of girls named Usagi Tsukino who transforms as Sailor Moon, Ami Mizuno as Sailor Mercury, Reino Hino as Sailor Mars, Makoto Kino to be Sailor Jupiter, Minako Aino as Sailor Venus, Chibusa as Sailor Chibi Moon, Setsuna Meioh as Sailor Pluto, Michiru Kaioh as Sailor Neptune, Harukah Tenoh as Sailor Uranus, and Hotaru Tonoe as the Sailor Saturn. There also appears Mamoru Chiba also known as Tuxedo Mask who is the love interest of Sailor Moon. Each of them possesses magical powers and special items with distinguishable sailor suit colors.

The Sailor Girls transform first using a device and shot a special command in order to transform into their Sailor Team forms and use their special powers ad abilities.

Sailor Moon has special magic attacks and can use special items from her body and suit as weapons. She can also transform into ultimate Sailor Moon forms using different magical items. Among the girls, she is the most powerful Sailor Soldier.
Sailor Mercury possesses the power to control and manipulate all phases of water. She can create dense mist clouds that can chill and blind the enemies, and even freeze or turn the enemies to ice.
Sailor Mars has the power over fire and can manipulate flames when she transforms into a Sailor Soldier, but can sense and drive out evil even in her civilian form.
Sailor Jupiter has powers that use lightning for attacks and can control plants. She uses some special items too as her weapons.
Sailor Venus powers is mainly associated with metal but most of her attacks are with relation to love and light as she is the Soldier of Love.
Sailor Chibi Moon has abilities like her mother, Sailor Moon. She comes from the future to help her mother.
Sailor Pluto is known as the guardian of time who protects the Space-Time door from unauthorized travelers. Thus, she has the powers over time and space.
Sailor Neptune’s powers come from the energy of the ocean. She has no control over the water but only the “deep water” which she uses to blast to her enemies.
Sailor Uranus has some psychic ability and is known as the Soldier of the Sky. Hr powers come from the sky energy and strikes them to her enemies.
Sailor Saturn is the Soldier of Silence and has numerous and varied unusual powers. Her primary role is like a destroyer.
